REGATTA AND SPORTS.
THE GATHERING AT PAHI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] PAPAROA, Monday. The Pahi regatta and sportß were held in ideal weather on Saturday and attracted a good attendance. The steamer Ruawai arrived with visitors from Dargaville and -way ports and was the flagship for the day. Outboard races, the greasy-boom event and wood-chopping aroused particularly keen interest among the spectators. Various sideshows added to the day's interest. Pahi, historic as the landing place of the Albertlnnd settlers, waß admired by the many visitors and old friends from a wide area. PUKEKAWA SPORTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUKAU, Monday. About 600 people were present at the annual sports at Pukekawa on Saturday. The varied nature of the events made the programme a particularly interesting one and, with idoal weather throughout the day, the gathering was very successful. In the running events G, Matheson won the Fukekawa Cup handicap, 150 yds, for the second year in succession, and thus won the cup outright.
