RALLY ON THE DOMAIN.

VISIT OF XORD BADEN-PaWELL-

The rally of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides to be held on the Domain on February 21, in honour of the visit of the Chief Scout and the Ghief Guide, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, promises to eclipse all previous similar demonstrations held in Auckland.

A most ambitious programme ha 3 been arranged and" every phase of scouting will be illustrated in a series of drill exercises and tableaux. Perhaps the foremost attraction will be a spectacular display by the boys, who will re-enact outstanding incidents in the history of New Zealand. The first presentation will be tha landing of Captain Cook, the hoisting; of the flag and the proclamation of NewZealand as a British possession.. Tlis Ellerslie troop will represent Captain Cook and bis party, while St. Aidan'a troop will appear as Maoris. Next, St. David's group, assisted by the Heme Bay and St. Aidan's troops, will present the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, which scene will be followed by the felling of the flagstaff at Korerareka, Hone Heke's proclamation of war. Successive scenes will be tha dramatic Siege of Orakau, presented by the Leys Institute troop and assisting troops; tha historic Maori War incident at Gate Pa, when a native woman, Heni le Kirikaramu, gave water to wounded British soldiers during the course of a battle, presented by St. George's troop; aud the Rover Scouts' interpretation of tho Call to Arms in August, 1914. The Wolf Cubs will welcome the Chief Scout with the "Grand Howl," and then dance "The Hunger Dance of Kaa, tho Python." On the leaders calling "Kaa" each pack will run together, forming a chain, representing a snake. Hissing, they will move around writhing into a coil and then uncoiling. When tho leaders call "Bunderlog" (monkey),, tho boys will act in a similar manner to monkeys by turning somersaults, climbing trees and examining grass and sticks.
