CAUGHT IN HAULING ROPE

GLEN AFTON "COLLIERY ACCIDENT

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. Sunday.

A miner, named James Devery, was the victim of a serious accident at the Glen Afton colliery yesterday. His body became entangled in the hauling rope attached to a train of skips, and he received injuries to the 6calp, face, back and leg. It is feared he was also injured internally. He was admitted to the Huntly Hospital and was later transferred to the Waikato Hospital, where his condition i 3 reported to be fairly serious.
