NO REASON FOR FEAR. POSITION AT HASTINGS. {by telegraph.—press association.] HASTINGS, Saturday. One of the greatest difficulties with •which the authorities in charge at Hastings have to contend is tho irresponsible circulation of most disturbing rumours. An absurd story that tho .whole population had to be in Danne■jvirke within 24 hours and another that everyone had to be in Trentham by Saturday, are typical examples of stories that are upsetting women in particular. Another rumour maintained that typhoid had broken out. , There is no fear of typhoid in Hastings nor in Napier.
