THE TENNYSON FAMILY.
UPHOLDING THE TRADITIONS. _ 0 The literary traditions of the Tennyson family are being upheld by the coming generation. Penrose Tennyson, tho eldest son of Mr. Charles B. L. Tennyson, C.M.G. (who is the literary executor for his famous grandfather), has won the Williams Exhibition in English literature at Balliol College, Oxford He is Only 18 and has had a remarkable career at Eton. The choice of Oxford is, however, a break with tradition, as all the Tennysons for three generations have been at Cambridge, but is explained by the fact that Cambridge offers no entrance scholarships purely in literature. In the near future , Mr. Tennyson. 6 enr., intends to issue a collection of nis grandfather's unpublished poems, many of which are youthful efforts.
