THE DUCHESS AT A CLINIC.
A BATH FOR RHEUMATISM. Tho Duohcss of York saw patients undergoing treatment at tho Red Cross clinic for tho treatment of rheumatism in Regent's Park, to which she paid an informal visit recently, wo are told by an overseas paper. Slie spent an hour inspecting the clinic,' which was opened by the Queen, and which has tho Duke of York as its president. Every detail of tho treatment was explained to her, and to one patient who lay immersed in an bath—known lo sufferers as a " bubbly " —she remarked " that looks very pleasant." The patient agreed that it was. In the X-ray department the Duchess was very interested in photographs of the human hand. She dipped her hands into bathing pools to test tho heat of the water, and before entering the sunlight room put on a pair of green glasses. The Duchess chatted with many of the patients, and was so eager to make a thorough inspection that she even climbed a narrow flight of stairs to tho top of the building to see the canteen.
