KUSHNER—CHER. Tho marriage of Miss Kate Cher, youngest daughter of tho late Mr. and Mrs. I. Cher, of Wellington, to Mr. Maurice 11. Kushner, eldest son of Mrs. Kushncr and tho late Mr. H. Kushner, of Auckland, was recently celebrated at the Synagogue, Princes Street, tho Rev. S. A. Goldstein officiating. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. P. G. Cher, wore a gown with a gored skirt and bodico finished with a coatee effect at the back and a loose knot in the front, ller "'veil of net and Valenciennes lace, appliqued with silver, was worn in mob-cap fashion and was held in place with orange blossoms at tho back, from which it fell to form a train carried by littlo Hannah Zander and Henry Cher, page boy. In attendance were Miss Ella Webster, chief bridesmaid, and Mies Rose Webster, nieces of the bride. Their fiocks were of marietto in pink and blue shades respectively and their hats and shower bouquets were to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. E. Factor as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Peter Pan Cabaret, where tho guests were received by Airs. Kushncr, Mrs. Goodman and* Mrs. Cher.

St. Paul's Church, Samarai, Papua, was the scene of a picturesque wedding re& cently when Miss Phyllis Marion OwenTurner, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen-Turner, was married to Mr. Frederick James Pomeroy, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Pomeroy, of Auckland. Tho service was conducted by the Rev. R. Lock. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle-length dress of white tucked georgette and lace, and her embroidered veil was held in place bv a coronal of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of orchids, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Bunting, wore a frock of blue floral chiffon with fawn hat. Little Ailsa Gribben and Billy Driver were pages and Mr. Eric Owen-Turner was best man. After tho ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Owen-Turner received the guests at Dunraven, tho residcnco of the Hon. A. 11. and Mrs. Bunting.

The wedding was celebrated in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Otahuhu, on Tuesday, of Miss Dorothy Myrtle Preston, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Preston, of Station Road, Otahuhu, to Mr. Gordon Alexander Todd, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. James Todd, of Mason Avenue, Otahuhu. The Pcv. A. M. Elliffe officiated, and Miss E. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Jessie lodd, sister of the bridegroom, wearing an ankle-length frock of shrimp pinf georgette, and-Mss Evelyn Judson, cousin of the bride, who wore eau do nil georgette with petalled skirt. Both wore hand-embroidered crinoline hats and carried bouquets ot roses and fern to match their gowns The bridegroom was attended by Mr. o\\en Preston as best man, and Mr. Tslalcolrn Todd as groomsman. A reception was held in St Andrew's Hall, following the ceremony. Mrs. F. T. Preston received the guests wearing a navy and beige eelanese ensemble with Bangkok hat to match. She carried a bouquet of roses and maidenhair fern to tone. Mrs. James 1 odd wore rose du barri eelanese ensemble ■ with Ballibuntal hat, and carried a bouquet to tone.

The wedding was solemnised at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parncll, last evening of Miss Mario Heald, t eldest daughter ol Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Bishop Williams, of Waiani, performed the ceremony, iho bride, w l io entered tho church with her fjither, \ oro a frock of ivory chemllo chiffon o> cr pink satin, made with a long-sleeve 1 bodico and?'with the skirt inlet with insertion ot the same material, which formed a flared train at the back. Tho front ol tho ankle-length skirt was also flared and caught at ono sitlo with iV cluster of orange blossoms lhe veil was of tho palest pink tulle, which formed a filmy t'ain. Worn off the face, it was caught across the back with spitiys of orango blossom. Sho enrned a

sheath of pink gladioli. The four bridesmaids, Miss Jocelyn Heald, sister of the bride, Miss Peggy Robertson, Miss Ailsa Howard and Miss Margaret Rainger, were similarly frocked in pearl pink satin bcaute. Each frock was made with a short-sleeved bodice and cut hip-yoke joining a fully-flared ankle-length skirt. Narrow belts of the same material were caught together at the back with diamanto clasps, and were worn high on tho waist. Their hats of pink summer felt were trimmed with soft bows of the same material as their frocks, and they carried sheafs of pink gladioli. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Harold George as best ■ man and Mr. Fcnton Heald, Mr. W. Gainer and Mr. Landon Culpan as groomsmen. The ushers at the church were Mr. Russell Geison and Mr. Murray Lewis. A reception was held after the ceremony at the homo of Mrs. E. Howard, of Parnell Road, aunt of tho bride. Mrs. Heald received her guests, wearing a frock of black chiffon with floral design in amber shades and touches of jado green. Her hat was of black Bangkok straw, and she carried a bouquet in autumn tints. Mrs. Wilson wore navy chiffon with hat to tone. Her bouquet was in autumnshaded flowers. Mrs. Howard was in navy floral ninon with a pink design and black straw hat. She carried autumn-shaded flowers. The reception rooms were arranged with blue hydrangeas and asparagus ferns, and the tables in a colour scheme of sweet peas and roses in shades of pink and mauve.
