INTEREST PROMPTLY PAID. GOOD IMPRESSION CREATED. (Received January 22, 11.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 21. American financiers, and especially bondholders, who have been most nervous about the result of recent political disturbances in South America and about European Governments' precarious situation were tremendously reassured as to the Australian situation to-day when the Commonwealth Government, tluough the J. P. Morgan Company, met promptly tho semi-annual dividend of about £370,000. The prompt payment of interest on this loan in all the circumstances is regarded as a tonic for Australia's financial reputation.
