AUCKLAND INFIRMARY.

Sir, —I have read of the necessity for enlarging the infirmary. Could not many of tho old people be looked after in their own homes, and in that way make more room for T.B. patients. It seems to me that in many cases the parents are put aside when they have passed the stago of usefulness, to be nursed by strangers, many of them girls who do not understand old people. It is hardly to bo expected that they should. I believe proportionately wo have a greater number of "homes for the aged" in this country than in the Motherland. Experience.
