SWOLLEN EYELIDS.
Those of you who have to drive cars or have to work in dust or smoke must have noticed how often the edges of your eyelids become red and swollen. Poor health and defective vision, sometimes late nights also cause this kind of inflammation.
If you look carefully you will sec that the bases of the hairs are hidden by tiny white scales, and each morning you find that the lids are gummed up. The best way to treat this is to wash fho eyelids with soap and hot water. 'lry to remove the white scales.
Then dry the eyes thoroughly and apply to tho edges of tho lids a I per cent, ointment of the yellow oxide of mercury. This should be done night and morning. If possible tho cause should be removed.
