A LEMON SOCIAL.

A NOVEL IDEA

A novel idea to raise money for charity was tried in England recently when a lemon social was held. The idea is to charge one lemon for admission, plus a penny tax on every seed in the lemon one takes.

Lemons are cut at a big table, and are there and then squeezed and converted into lemonade. Get lemon tarts, pies, cakest, and other lemon confections, and spread them out among all the other food you may have. Serve lemon sherbet with fresh sponge cakes and tarts. To pleaso the children have a " lemonade well.' - Sink a five-gallon crock into the ground to within a few inches of the top. Then construct an old-fashioned well box, with a windlass or a well sweep at the top. A small wooden or tin bucket should be fastened at ono end of the rope and then let down into the well and the children' 3 glasses filled from the bucket.
