CANING 183 BOYS.

A record for non-stop " whacking " has been established by the Indian head of a school at Mcrcaba. in South India. In one morning the school master caned 183 hoys who had quit their work and gone on a strike. Beaching their homes the boys complained to their parents but most of their fathers and mothers gave them a second thrashing. Two of the boys went to hospitals desiring to he treated hut the surgeon gave them another caning, it was alleged, and sent them away. No more schoplboy strikes are expected at Mcrcara, it is naively added.
