JEWELS IN A TOMB.
SOLVING A MYSTERY. ,The mystery of the disappearance of a dead woman's jewels has heen solved in Paris. They have been found iri her tomb. , Signorina Honorine Breyda died at Vancresson, near Versailles, in 1928. Her niece, believing her to have been wealthy, came from Italy to look into matters. She found that M Vallcndier, a friend of her aunt, had taken charjo of the latler's affairs. Ihe niece was surprised to find little of value left in Signorina Breyda's fine house and questioned M. Vallendier. He stated that, at her aunt's request, he had had all her jewellery buried with her. To (est this statement the niece obtained authority to have the massive tomb searched. In the presence of ; magistrate and counsel representing botb parties, the coffin was opened. Four rings and'three bracelets, valued at. about £6OO, were found it here.
