CHARGE OF THEFT.

ARREST OF TWO SUSPECTS.

Attracted by a noise a resident of Mount Smart Road, Mr. J. T. W. Smith, who had left his motor-truck outside his home on Thursday evening, saw two men acting in a, suspicious manner, both making off 'when they saw they were observed. Mr. Smith gave chase and caught a man after a struggle. Later another man was arrested.

Frank Ratcliffe, aged 28, hawker, and Lindon Scott Goodwill, aged 33. labourer, appeared in the Onebunga Police Court yesterday, ■ before Messrs. J. E. Green and J. Laking, J.P.'s, on charges of stealing a. motor-car steering-wheel and attempting to steal a. motor tyre. Both were remanded to appear next Friday.
