CLEMENCEAU'S STATUE.
DISPUTE AS TO SCULPTOR. AWKWARD POSITION CAUSED. PARIS, Jan. 1. The late M. Clemenceau's daughter says that M. Francois Sicard, who designed the Archibald Memorial Fountain for ITvde Park, Sydney, must have the commission to execute the statue of her father, to be erected in the ■ Champs Elysees.
But the municipality of Paris and the Ministry of Fine Arts have already given the commission to another sculptor, who has done a good deal of work upon it. The situation is very embarrassing.
