DOMINION FOOD SHOP.
OPENING IN MANCHESTER. AUSTRALIAN ENTERPRISE. LONDON, Jan. 1. Manchester will open its first Dominion food shop in the new year, and it will remain open for a month. It is being organised for Australia House, and will sell samples of Australian dairy produce, apples, oranges, tinned fruits, jams, dried fruits and honey. Local tradesmen are co-operating with window displays and selling similar goods in bulk. It is hoped to persuade the people of Manchester to change their preference for Danish butler over Australian butter, which is claimed to be richer in cream and vitamins.
Tho food shop will also show films on how Australian foods are produced, says the Manchester Guardian.
