BAN ON RATIONING.
UNION REGRETS MEASURE, A CHANGE OF ATTITUDE. SYDNEY. Jan. 8. An extraordinary position has arisen with regard to the rationing of work in Sydney. Some of the union officials who urged the Government to insert in the Arbitration Amendment Bill a clause prohibiting rationing are now petitioning employers to disregard the provision. Employers in tho metal trades have refused to agree to do this, and the result will be serious for employees, 3500 of whom are faced with unemployment.
