Rejoicing over the success of the seaplanes which flew to Brazil has been turned into sorrow on tho receipt of sad news from Bolama, West Africa. It is disclosed that five of the Atlantic airmen were killed and three others injured when two machines which were taking off wero forced down, owing to their heavy loads of fuel and necessaries required for the ocean flights. One seaplano took fire and her commander, a lieutenant, a sergeant and the wireless officer wero burned to death. A flo.it was damaged on the other machine, in which a sergeant-major was killed, and three men slightly injured.
