MOTORING ACCIDENT.
SEVEN PERSONS INJURED.
LARGE CAR SOMERSAULTS.
OCCUPANTS THROWN OUT.
TWO IN SERIOUS CONDITION.
[BY - TELEGRAPH. —PKESS A SSOCT'ATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. Seven persons were injured when a 'large car somersaulted three times near Patea when endeavouring to pass a small car.' Details of the injured are:— Alice Hodge, aged 21, daughter of Mr. S. Ilodge, of Alton, fractured skull, condition serious. Phyllis Hodge, aged 15, fairly serious condition, fractured collarbone. Annie Hodge, aged 17, gashed leg. Guy Hardenberg, aged 25, of Alton, concussion and cuts. Ilenrie Apaturie, aged 17, of Palmerston North, concussion and cuts. Marie Thomson, aged 18, of Ractihi, abrasions. Mr. S. Hodge, the driver of tho car, head cut and hands lacerated. Mr. Hodge had been following a small car which refused to give way. In an endeavour to pass it Mr. Hodge's car skidded and somersaulted. The occupants were thrown in all directions. The 6mall car disappeared.
