Ivewpie's Triumph, the three-year-old colt in J". Geo's stable, wlio has shown such encouraging form on his last few starts, wbb yesterday given a sound work-out over two miles at Epsom. While the paco was slowin the early stages the youngster finished his task in a manner suggesting that ho will furnish info a stayer. Kewpie's Triumph covered the distance in 4.55, the first half-liiile occupying 1.20 and tho mile 2.31!. He reached the 12 furlongs post in 3.40, and ran over the,final half-mile in 1.9. As the colt's placed performances in mile and a-half events, with 3.31 and 3.31 limits, will seo him well back in novice races at this distance, his owner. .T. GOLD JACKET PACES WELL. AN INTERESTING WORK OUT. Tho Wellington Gold Cup candidates Harold Logan (R. J. Humphreys), Native Prince (C. Fairman) and Gold Jacket (L. McMahon) Were given a strong and interesting work-out at Alexandra Park yesterday. Harold Logan and Native Prince jumped away for a two miles journey, but the pace was slow, the first half-mile occupying 1.15. At this point Gold Jacket joined issuo, taking tho outside position, and the trio registered 1.10 for tho next half. At. tho, end of tho third four furlongs, run in 1.9, Gold Jacket.was just behind his companions, and the pace was increased f<?r the final term. Pacing freely and truly the Cup candidates landed home together, the last half showing l.fl. Gold Jacket's time being a shade better. His timo for the mile and a-half was 3.25. Harold Logan and Native Prince tru'versed tho two miles in 4.40, the last mile being run in 2.15. Gold Jacket's performance was the best lie has given for a long'while, as ho paced boldly, and squarely and did not make the slightest attempt to hitch when the pressure was applied.
