The Formers' Auctioneering Company, Limited, held a Block sale at Matamata yesterday, when'there ~ere good yardings of all classes of stock. The cattle market was generally dull, and bidding was far from spirited. There was a medium yarding of baconers and porkers, and au average number of <?iore pigs. Prices maintained late rates for fat pigs while store pigs met with keen competition. Quotations Cattle: Fat steers, £9 to £10; prime fat cows, £6los to JE7 Bs; lighter fat cows, £5 5s to £G Is; stores, £2 15s to £3 ss; 3J-year Shorthorn steers, £7 4s; 2J-year Hereford steers, £5 3s to £5 19s; bulls, £2 to £5; Shorthorn heiefs. r.w.b., £3 10s. Bidding was dull and prices lower than at the previous sale. Sellers met the market, however, nnd a good clearance was effected.
