DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.
NEW SOUTH WALES TOWN. SUPPLY OF WATER FAILS. SYDNEY, Jan. 7. Damage estimated at £9&00 was caused by a fire at Lisrnore, a large town in the Northern River district, when a twostoreyed wooden building and two shops were destroyed. Other buildings were damaged. When the brigade arrived the fire had a very slight hold, but the town water supply failed and the water had to bo pumped from the river close at hand.
