The Hamilton monoplane Aorangi, which has been conducting passenger flights from Mount Maunganui Beach, swerved on landing to avoid a lady bather. A wheel struck a stone and part of the carriage was broken. Minor damage was done to the left wing. The passengers and pilot escaped injury. Repairs will be carried out locally and the plane is expected to be flying to-morrow.
