WEDDINGS.
BABER-COOKE. At St. James' Church, Auckland, the wedding of Miss Helen Jane Cooke, second daughter of Mrs. W. M. Cooke, and the hto Mr. W. M. Cooke, of Snndringham, (o Mr. Baber, son of Mr. and the lafe Mrs. 11. Baber, of Huntly, was recently celebrated by tho Rev. E. R. Harries. The bride, who entered the, church with her brother, Mr. A. J. Cooke, wore a frock of ivory satin, fashioned with long, tightfitting sleeves, and full ankle-length skirt. Her veil was of Brussels lace and was held in jilaco at tho cars with orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of Christmas lilies, carnations and sweetpeas. In attendance were Miss Norah Cooko (sister of the bride) and Miss Olive Trembath, who woro frocks of shell pink and Air Force blue georgette respectively, with ankle-length skirts with bands of satin and capo collars. They woro pandan hats to tone, and carried shower bouquots of shndod flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Harold Alvery as best man, and Mr. Gordon Cooko as groomsman. A reception was held in tho Domain Kiosk, Mrs. Cooke receiving in black crepe de chine relieved with beige georgette and a black hat. She carried a posy of mauve flowers. DOWDLE—CHAPMAN. Tho wedding was celebrated at St. David's Church, Ivhyber Pass, on Monday evening, of Miss Clarice Marion Chapman, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Chapman, of Sherwood Avenue, Grey Lynn, to Mr. Thomas Edward Dowdle, only son of Lho Into Mr. T. E. Dowdle, of Christchurch, and of Mrs. G. Chignell, of Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her father, was gowned in ivory embossed ninon, cut on princess lines, with train bordered with georgette. Her veil, an heirloom, was of Limerick lace, arranged from a Juliet cap and caught at the back with orange blossom. A sheaf of Christmas lilies and lilies of tho valley was carried. The Rev. W. Scott performed tho ceremony and Mr. Caston played appropriate music. Mrs. S. 'long, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of honour, and woro a frock of delphinium blue georgette with long hip yoke and full flared skirt. Tho two bridesmaids, Miss A. Chapman and Miss L. Bell, sister and cousin of the bride, wore frocks of apricot and green georgette respectively. Their wide-brimmed hats of crinoline straw were trimmed with velvet ribbon, tho bows reaching tho hem of tho frocks, and bouquets were carried in shades to tone. Mr. Percy Kenny was best man and Mr. Arthur Chapman groomsman. A reception was held at tho Romano Cabaret, where Mrs. Chapman received wearing a frock of navy blue crepe de chine trimmed with lace and a hat of ballibuntal straw. Her bouquet was of red roses and sweet peas. Mrs. Chignell, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of navy blue georgette, patterned in shades of cyclamen, with wide-brimmed hat of Baku straw. She carried a bouquet in shades of cyclamen to tone.
G'SULLIVAN—PEOPLES. At. St. Patrick's Cathedral ou New Year's Bay the marriage was celebrated of Miss Kathleen Mary Peoples, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Peoples, of Ilenie Bay, to Mr. John Richard O'Sullivan, second son of Mrs. and the late Mr. John O'Sullivfin, of Auckland. The lie v. Dr. L. Buxton performed the ceremony, and afterwards celebrated Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was given away by her brother, wore an ankle-length gown of ivory satin benute, with tight-fitting bodice and full flared skirt, which formed a train, the samo being heavily embroidered with pearls and hand-made roses. The Brussels net veil was arranged with pearls and orange blosscms, and a sheaf of Christmas lilies was carried. In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses Carlio Russell and N.ita Douglas, wearing ankle-length frocks of blush pink ajid eau do nil Chnntilly lace, respectively. They were fashioned alike with capo collars and deep hems of georgette, finished with tiny rosebuds. Their crinoline hats to tono wero trimmed with velvet ribbon, and each carried a bouquet of carnations and sweetpeas. Tho bridegroom was attended by Mr. Stephen O'Sullivan as best man and Mr. "W. Qnigley as groomsman. During tho Mass Mrs. Gordon Hillver gave a rendering of D? Dosb' "Ave Marin," -with 'cello accompaniment, and Mr. Harry Iliscocks played tho organ music. Following tlie ceremony a reception was held at tho Domain Kiosk, the guests numbering about 70. Mrs. Peoples received, wearing an almond green satin beaute ensemblo and green Bangkok hat, and she carried a bouquet of roses. Mrs. O'Sullfvan, mother of tho bridegroom, was in navy marocain and beigo georgette, with navy Ballibtintal hat, and her bouquet j was of crimson carnations and swfietpeas.
TINDLE—McD ONNELL. Tho marriage took placo at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Cambridge,, recently, of Miss Elizabeth McDonnell, oldest daughter of Mr. nnd Mrs. Michael McDonnell, of Roto-o-rangi, Cambridge, to Mr. Cyril Egmont Tindle, younger son of Mr. and tho lato Mrs. Tindle, of Frankton. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father M. Hunt and Miss M. Peterson played tho wedding music. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pink beige georgette'frock and hat to match, and carried a sheaf of apricot roses. In attendance on tho brido was her sister, Miss Anno McDonnell, who wore a mist-blue floral georgette frock nnd gold crinoline hat. A posy of pink nnd blue flowers was carried. Mr. A Grigg was best man. After the ceromony a reception was held at the Triangle Tearooms. Airs. McDonnell received her guests in a navy satin bcauto frock, relieved with fawn, and navy Bangkok hat. Sho carried a bouquet of autumn-tinted roses.
