CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.—After a prolonged spill of fine summer weather the condition! changed yesterday. The wind was very light and variable and the sky wan duil and cloudy. Light showers were ejcperienceed at intervals. There was very little movement of the barometer, which was steady at 30.00 in. .'last night. Wellington. —Brilliant weather prevailed or. Wednesday. During the nigh!, tho sky clouded over and the northerly breeze freshened. The wind continued throughout yesterday, although the sky cleared somewhat during the afternoon and the temperature remained warm. Christchurch. The weather oveir the holidays was most pleasant, with a light wind from the north-east. The barometer wis sterdv at 29.85 in. Dunedin —Ideal summer weather was experienced on Wednesday arid yesterdav. The • wind was light and ranged between north-east and .south The maximum temperature on Wednesday was 77dee. Yesterday was not quite as 'imrm. The barometer was fairly high a / l s* the reading last evening being .29.8010.
