DROWNED IN RIVER.
TWO MEN LOSE LIVES. A FRIEND'S SACRIFICE. SYDNEY, Dec. 29. Andrew Houget, aged 24, and William Hayes, 25, were drowned 'in the Namoi River. Houget got into difficulties find his brother Alee and Hayes went to his assistance. They were unable, however, to assist their struggling companion. Alec Houget managed to scramble ashore, but Hayes sank.
