(Received December 30, 12.15 a.m.) / SYDNEY, Deo. 29 • In spito of recent protests by employers against tho proposed rointroduction of the 44-hours week, with pay for 48 hours, and also the abolition of rationing, the New South Wales Ministry has decided that both shall operate from / January 5. It is estimated that 26,000 employees will be dismissed. Tho employers assert that there is only a certain amount of money available for wages, and that the only alternative is wholesale dismissals, which will take effect the moment the Government's proclamation is issued.
