CARR AND HIS COMMITTEE. QUESTION OF RESIGNATION. (Received December 28. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 27. Commenting on tho statement that the committee of tho Notts County Cricket Club has asked him to resign tho captaincy, Mr. A. W. Carr says: "If they want to sack me, why do they not come out into the open and say so ? lam not hurt because it seems thoy want to depose me, but 1 object to tho underhand way in which somebody is trying to do it. "I have never felt more qualified to lead the team. Certainly I shall exercise my birth qualification and play for Surrey if necessary."
