WRESTLING CONTEST.
WALKER BEATS McDOUGALL, LOSER SUFFERS INJURY, [by telegraph.— press association.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Saturday. In a wrestling contest George Walker lifted Scotty McDougall at arm's length above his head and slammed him on the mat with a thud. He waited a second for him to recover, then dived on him to ■ use an ankle-hold until McDougall signalled submission, thus ending in the fifth round a dramatic 'wrestling bout staged in the open air before a large crowd. McDougall was unable to continue the contest. The bout was a thrilling one, full of action. Walker was entitled to 60 pen. cent, of the purse and McDougall to 40, but afc the conclusion Walker_ announced, that as his opponent was seriously hurt, he would donate 10- per cent, to Mc-. Dougall.
