DONOVAN AND LECKIE DRAW. [BY TELEGRAPH. —rRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH. Sunday. 'A feather-weight boxing contest between Tommy" Donovan (Waitara), feather-weight champion, and Johnnie Leckie (Napier) last evening resulted in a draw, a decision which met with tho approval of the great majority of the spectators. The fight was staged in the Palmerston North Opera House boforo a large attendance and although full of interest there was little hard hitting. Donovan was an awkward target and took every chance to get in close, where he did better. Leckie outfought his man in tho 10th, 11th and l2th rounds to lead on points, but Donovan finished aggressively and made up tho leeway.
