LAWN TENNIS.

HANDICAP TOURNAMENT. CONCLUDING STAGES REACHED. INTEREST IN FINAL GAMES. Ideal weather conditions again prevailed for tho Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's handicap tournament at tho Stanley Street courts oo Saturday. There were many close and interesting matches, which revealed a high standard of play. The tournament should conclude to-day. The winner in the men's singles is still well concealed, although Aldred has been showing exceptionally good form in all his matches and should go close to winning. In tho men'B doubles J. S. Colegrove and E. Tonks gained the final bracket at the expense of Porter and Jones. The latter pair struck a patch of crratio overhead work, or they might have extended the Remuera combination to a greater extent. In the ladies' singles Misses Heard and Milne, both off scratch, will contest tha final, having defeated Misses Ellett and Betty Griffiths respectively. The loserß were both on 30 2-G and found tho handicap too great, although they both put up keen struggles. Some good matches should rosult in the concluding rounds of tho combined event.
