Tho annunl cricket match for the Brabin Cup between ths Auckland and Wellington junior representative teams was concluded at Eden Park on Saturday, tho match resulting in a. win for Wellington by IR7 runs on the first innings. Tho weather was perfect and tho wicket played true. With five wickets down for 109 runs from the previous day's play in roply to Wellington's first- innings total of 316. Auckland icsumed its innings, and tho total was taken to 140 before the side was dismissed. Tho remaining Auckland batsmen did not show • up promisingly and tho deficit of 167 runs on. the first innings was a fair reflex of ' ! the play. Mallard was tho most successful bowler for the visitors, taking three wickets for 21 runs. His slow, flighty deliveries fyid iho batsmen scratching on many occaBions.
