PRIZE IN COMPETITION.

FIRST WIN IN HER LIFE. LONDON, Dec. 3. Mrs. Robinson, aged 80, living in Cumberland, won a prize of £IOOO in a guessing competition, relating to Australian wool. She had never won a threepenny piece before, and is too excited to come to London, so she is sending her granddaughter, Yivienne, to collect the money. Wolsey, Limited, offered the prize for tho most correct forecast of the number of garments made of Australian wool by the firm in the year ended November 8. Tho actual number was 13,838,737, and Mrs. Robinson's guess was 13,840,001.
