THE STATE BARBER.
Sir, —1 have read the article in the Herald on state enterprise dealing principally with tho barber shop at the new railway station. The Railway Department in this matter has cast a slight on all the hairdressing firms in Auckland and it is wholly unwarranted. If tho department wished to cater for the travelling public in that respect why not everybody a chance and call public tender, before the station was completed. Indeed in fairness to all hairdressing firms and employees tenders should still be called for tho lease of the premises. Putaruru. Geoik;b Nicklk.
