TROUT FISHING SEASON.
POOR DAY AT LAKE ROTOITI.
ANGLERS' LACK OF SUCCESS
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TB PUKE, Wednesday. "We fishermen do have our dull days," remarked Mr. H. Cuff, Te Puke, a wellknown Bay of Plenty angler and sportsman, when interviewed after yesterday's fishing at Lake Rotoiti. Mr. I luff had been out from morning until dark fishing with " matuka " fly and failed to land a fish. Fishing on the lnke was exceedingly poor, and anglers were greatly disappointed with the day's results. Although fish are scarce those secured were in good condition, all averaging over 31b. At Waieti Mrs. Carpenter secured a fine trout, which turned the scales at 81b. * Lake Rotoehu has provided good sport for Mr. E. H. Wilkins and party oi four rods this season. Although tho season has boon open barely six weeks this party has secured 354 trout.
