CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH.
Auckland.—The weather was fine and clear yesterday, but dull and cloudy in ■ the evening. The wind was light southwest and the barometer was practicallj steady at 30.10 in. Wellington.— IVarm., overcast weather, with a northerly wind, was experienced yesterday. After sunset the sky cleared. Christchurch. —The weather yesterday was overcast, with a few drops of rain irt the afternoon. The wind was moderate and light from the north-east and the maximum temperature 61 degrees. The barometer had a rising tendency, the reading in the evening being 30.00 in. Dunedin.-—The weather was fine, but boisterous and unsettled yesterday. The wind was fresh and squally from the south-west and the maximum ture was 64 degrees. The barometer was . steady, the reading in the evening being 2!).95in. * ;
