HOT CHASE OF THIEVES.
RINGS THROWN TO CROWD.
A Brighton cinema crowd at Brighton, England, had a real-.thrill outside a picture paliice one night a few weeks ago. Crowds of theatre-goers joined in a Initio for three thieves who carried out a_ daring smash-and-grab raid at a jewellei s s op in the centre of the town. The three men passed in front of tn® jewellers, which is only a few yards from a cinema, where a long queue of peop were awaiting admission. Suddenly one if the. men hurled a brick through window of the shop, while ano er snatched a tray of valuable diamond rings. All three men Lad disappeared before the crowd had recovered from their amazement. , , •\ motorist started the hunt, and was followed by scorer, of people, who gave up their places in the cinema queue to join in the chase. The thieves were almost overtaken when the one carrying the tray of rings hurled them at the. feet of'the pursuers. in the commotion that ensued all three me escaped. Twentv of the lings vcie io* covered, and five were still missing.
