SUNDAY OBSERVANCE.
Sir,—With regard to the Rev. Lawson Marsh's published statement that the Council of Christian Congregations delayed its campaign ori Sunday observance until after the City Council decided I,he question of its attitude to pictures on Sundays, it is only necessary to point out, in refutation that the circular compiled by Mr. Marsh under the aegis of the firstnamed body was delivered to members of the City Council on the eve'of the last council meeting, when it was generally known that the Finance Committee would again present its report. Further refutation lies in the fact that at that council meeting, which was attended by tho undersigned, the bulk, of the public gallery was occupied by well-known clerical members of the Council of Christian Congregations, including the Rev. Lawson Marsh. This imposing array of clergymen was ther'e» presumably, to make its desired impression upon the councillors. The above facts scarcely agiee with Mr. Marsh's disclaimer.
G. A. Rawson,
