TWO CASES AT SYDNEY. " THIEVES' BRUTAL TACTICS. SYDNEY, Nov. 2-1. Two thieves were surprised by the purser of the liner Cathay, Mr. John Outram, in his cabin, whereupon lie was seized by the throat and beaten ii> tc> a state of insensibility. The thieves stole a sum of £370 and escaped. Early this morning a masked bandit struck (he driver of a motor-bus with tho butt of a revolver while the terrified passengers looked on, then snatched tho conductor's money bag and escaped.
