Miss M. Bennett, of Palmerston North is the guest of Mis. C. Bennett, of Auck land.
Mrs. C. W. Garrard, of Remuera, has returned from a visit to Canterbury and Westland.
Mrs. C. E. Davis, of Ch|istchurcli, is visiting Auckland, and is sfitying at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. J. G. Coates returned to Dargavillo yesterday evening after a brief visit to Auckland.
Mrs. Acheson, of Nelson, who is on a short visit to Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. T. W. Irwin.
Mrs. H. Taylor, who has been on a visit to Auckland, lias returned to Wairaniarama, Onewhero.
The gardening circle of the Lyceum Club is holding a flower show this afternoon commencing at 2.30 p.m.
Miss Audrey Garland, who lias been on a brief visit to Miss Joan Fox, of Remuera, returned to Waiuku last evening.
A successful bridge party in aid of the convent school funds was held at the homo of Mrs. P. Feeney, Ngaruawaliia, on Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Feeney was assisted by Mrs. .T. Cavanagh and Mrs. D. Welch. Progressive bridge was played, winning scores being passed in by Mrs. W. Patterson, Mrs. Burke and Miss Plugge. Among those present wero Mesdames Feeney, J. Cavanagh, D. Welch, G. Avey, Eyre, W. Patterson, W. Lovell, Hyde, W. Cavanagh, Burke, S. Hall, Fuller, Adams, Joy and Christie, Misses Donnelly, London and Plugge.
The final meeting for iho year of the Henderson branch of tho League of Mothers was held this week in the Foresters' Hall, a largo number of members being present. Tho president, Mrs. Walsh, welcomed Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, provincial president of tho league, and presented her with a beautiful bouquet of roses. A varied programme was given, songs being contributed by Mrs. Osborne, Mrs. Hutchinson and Mrs. F. Wright, and readings and recitations by Mrs. Eason, Mrs. Stuart, Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Kennedy. Mrs. Yearbury acted as accompanist, and afternoon tea was dispensed by Mi's. 0. F. Brookes and her daughter, Mrs. Hardie.
