CHURCH SCHOOLS.
ANGLICAN PROPOSAL. FELLOWSHIP TAKES LEAD. A proposal to establish a church pri« mary School as part of the activities of the Anglican Church is being fostered by the New Zealand Church Fellowship and a meeting to,further the movement was held under the auspices of the fellowship at St. Paul's schoolroom last evening. The lvev. A. I\. A 1 lor ten presided, and tho principal speaker was the Kev. H. 1. Steele, vicar of Whattgarei. Mr. Steele strongly urged the establishment of church schools and said if they could spread the idea they would eventually get sufficient support to attain their object, although it was realised that it would take years, 110 referred to the lack of religion among the young people and expressed the opinion that tho Church was losing ground. It was their duty to take the children and teach them the whole faith aiid this was only possible in schools ruled and guided by the Church. They could not be satisfied with the present, position and it was for them to show that church schools were posM Cither speakers supported the proposal, but nil agreed that results would be slew "'The"chairman explained the method* taken to build up a fund to assist their efforts and appealed to those present .o , help This was the first step and onto they had secured this fund he was suie they could look lo tho higher authorities of the Church to take the proposal further.
