SUDAN UNITED MISSION.
SUCCESSFUL YEAR'S WORK.
A very satisfactory balance-sheet was presented at the nineteenth annual meeting of tho Auckland branch of the Sudan United Mission last evening. The president, Mr. S. Barry, presided. The treasurer, Mr. S. L. P. Rimmer, said that although ho had received larger sums in tho past he had more satisfaction over this balance-sheet than any other he had presented. In spite of tho hard conditions prevailing the total income of £621. was £J3 moro than had been received in tho previous year. Tho annual report made roferenco to tho successful deputation work carried out during (ho year by Mrs. E. K. Rimmor and Mr. J. Priestley. The outstanding event of tho year on the field had been the baptismal service at Rom in August, when 17 new members were added to the infant native church there. Much regret was expressed at tho early retirement from tho Held of Mr. and Mrs. D. N. MacDiarmid and Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Rimmer. Tho following olliccrs were elected:— President, Mr. H. Field; vice-president, Mr. S. Barry; honorary treasurer, Mr. S. L. P. Rimmer; honorary secretary, Mr. W.' R. Hookings; committee, Mesdames IT. Ci. "Wilson and J. I). McNaughton, Miss Grantham, Messrs. A. Colvin, J. D. McNaughton, H. H. Driver, K. M. Griffin, G. E. Inglis, H. Wilson and G. Winson.
