PROGRESS OF ARRANGEMENTS
SHIELD FOR SCHOOLS SECTION

Arrangements for the. 1' ranklin Agiicultural" and Pastoral Society's annual show, to be held at Tukekohe on February 13 <iiii 1 14, were advanced at a meeting of the executive last evening. Acknowledgment of the invitation to the Governor (ieneral, Lord Rledisloe, to ofli.ially open the show was received. The acknowledgment explained that a definite reply could probably bo given in December, when His Excellency's arrangements for February were likely to be known.
It was stated that the work of compiling the schedule of classes for the show was now well forward.
The Onewhero School Committee forwarded a donation of £5 toward the prizelist. It was decided to utilise the donation to provide a shield, to be known as the Onewhero Challenge Shield, for competition in the schools section, the Onewhero school having won outright, the W. F. Massey Memorial Shield previously provided for'competition in this section. Twenty nine now members were elector!. It was decided to hold the society's annual sports meeting on March 28.
