NEW SCENIC ROUTE.
RUN TO WAIKAREMOANA. LABOUR DAY OUTING. The official opening of the UreweraWaikaremoana Road, which has been described as the most beautiful scenic motor route in (he .Dominion, will be celebrated by the Auckland Automobile Association dining the Labour Day week-end, when it is proposed to hold the first run of the season to Lake House, on the shores of Lake Waikaremoana. Members are to assemble at Potorua and will leave there at 7,30 a.m. on Sunday, October 26. Conditions at present are reported to be very fair, but the association is making complete arrangements to have a final report available just prior to the start. In the event of unfavourable weather prevailing, the association states it will still be possible to travel from Piotorua to the shores of the lake on reasonable roads. The only section that is likely to be a little rough is the last 13 miles to Lake House. Members are advised to carry chains as a precautionary measure and to seo that braking systems are in perfect order. The ceremony of opening the road will be performed at the top of the Iluiarau Range, at an altitude of 3200 ft. above sea-level. The return will be made on Labour Day, members being free to return to Auckland either via Napier and Taupo or Gisborno and Opotiki, or they may return through the Urcwera to Potorua.
