TANIWHA REFLOATED.
DEPARTURE FOR AUCKLAND.
ARRIVAL, THIS MORNING* [ 11V TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ,/ THAMES. Thursday. With the assistance of the Motu from Auckland, the coastal steamer Taniwha, which sank afc tho Puriri Wharf yesterday morning, was refloated on this morning's tide. When tho tide was low yesterday the crew got a collision mat into position over the rent in the port bow, and with the Motu's pump going managed to, refloat- llio vessel. Sho was then tied up at the Puriri Wharf.
According to advice received by the Northern Steamship Company in Auckland yesterday, the rent in tho Taniwha's bow was fairly large. Tho hole was sufficiently repaired for the vessel to leave for Auckland under her own power at high water last evening and she is expected to reach Auckland early this morning. The Taniwha will be put on the slipway for repairs and it is expected that she" will be ready to resume in the service next week. _ In the meantime *thc service will bo maintained by Iho Waipu.
