AN OLD OFFENDER.
TOTAL OF 164 CONVICTIONS. "A NUISANCE FOR TEN YEARS." Ilis 164 th conviction was recorded in the Police Court yesterday against Daniel South, aged SO, labourer, who denied a charge of being idle and disorderly in that he possessed insufficient lawful means of support. " Accused has been about tho streets for months. lie has dono no work and as far as I know lie is not in receipt of a pension," said Constable Christiansen. " He is becoming a nuisance." " lie has been a nuisance for the past ten years," said the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt. Remarking that accused's list showed 163 previous convictions, the magistrate imposed sentence of thrco months' imprisonment.
