Seventy-six applications for 10 sections offered for selection in the Omahuta block, of 2430 acres, were dealt with by tho North Auckland Land Board at its meeting this week. The land is at the head of the Hokianga Harbour and was ; formerly a State forest reserve. To givo access, a new road is to bo constructed from tho Mangamuka-Kawakawa main i highway, at a point near the Taikawhana i post office, about 30 miles from the Okai--1 hau railway station. Most of tho applicants were residents of. adjacent districts. : The ballot for tho sections resulted as follows Sections 2 and 3, J. Walker, Ivohukohu; sections 4 and 5, 11. M. Cfimp. bell, Ohura; sections 6 and 7, H. Faithfull, Kaoo; sections 8 and 9, A. Maxwell, Kohulcohu; sections 10 and 11, R. Guest, Raweno; section 12, C. J. Finlayson, Whangarei; section 13, G. 11. Mcßao, Wekawoka: section, 14, J. Arms, Tuakau; scc- ; tion 15, <T.. C. and J. Y. Chapman, Kaikohe. All the foregoing sections are ,in 'block XV., Maungataniwha survey district.
