Mrs. Howard Page has returned to Wellington from a visit to Auckland.

Miss Grant, of Auckland, is visiting her sister, Mrs. C. L. Hart, of Christchurch.

Mrs. E. C. Duncan, of Grafton, has returned from a visit to Hamilton and Rotorua.

Mrs. G. Hill, of the United States, is visiting Auckland and is staying at the Grand Hotel.

Mrs, W. D. Gordon, of Wellington, is visiting Auckland and is staying afc tho Grand Hotel.

Miss Helen Ronnie, of Taupiri, who has been visiting her aunts in Christchurch, is returning on Saturday.

There was a specially good attendance of members of the Mount Eden branch of the Hospital Auxiliary at a meeting held recently. Mrs. Potter presided. The reports from tho various committees showed an increase of work and interest. In order to raiso funds thnro will be a "bring-and-buy" salo at Mrs. Potter's residence early in October. Tho final card evening of tho season will be held shortly at Nicholson Park pavilion, in aid of funds for the extra needs of tho hospital and tho poor at Christmas time.

A very enjoyable aftornoon tea _ at which Miss Garforth, one of tho original ntombers of the Victoria Leaguo in Christchurch, and Mrs. Bagnall, of Tonga, were the guests of honour, was held at tho Victoria Leaguo rooms yesterday. The president, Miss Mowbray, wolcomed tho visitors,' and later Miss Lockwood played a violin solo, Miss Kent acting as her accompanist. Tho hostesses were Mrs. J. B. ' Macfarlano, Mrs. 0. Keeble, Mrs. Donald Ogilvie, Mrs. Eliot Davis, Mrs. H. M. Marler, Miss Slator and Miss D. Slator.
