ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS. ACCOMMODATION FOR BAND. Tuy TELEGRAPH. —OWN COURESPONnENT.] TAURANOA. Wednesday. At a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council this week tho Mayor, Mr. B. C. Bobbins, and Mr. A. E. Ncwsham, were appointed delegates to the Municipal Conference to be hold at Rotorua in March. The tender of Messrs. Tonkin and Carswell for supplying fittings for the new library .was accepted. Acting on the recommendation of the Electricity C'ommitteo the council decided to continue the policy of free installations of electric ranges and grillers. It was decided to erect a retaining wall on the Town Hall allotment. A special committee submitted a report recommending that plans for altering tho present. library building to accommodate the T'lnnket nurse and to provido a ladies' rest, room be approved. Tho council decided to defer the question until noxt meeting. A'deputation from tho Municipal Band submitted a proposition for a concrete basement for tho use of the band when playing on the waterfront, and offered to do the work if tho council provided ihe material. The council acceded to tho request and referred the matter to a committee for action.
