TE AROHA SHOW.
QUEEN CARNIVAL PROCEEDS. SUM OF £549 RAISED TO DATE. [nY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA, Thursday.
Tho queen carnival in aid of the Tc Arolia Agricultural and Pastoral Associatiun, which closes at the end of October, has so far realised £549. In tho last three years tho association has raised £2OOO. Improvements to tho stock pens and yards Imvo just been completed at a cost of £6OO. After meeting all liabilities the show account will have a credit of £3.
Tho position of tho association, said tho president, Mr. I' 1 . M. Strange, at a meeting of the Finance Committee, was most satisfactory. All money raised by tho carnival from tho present dalo would go toward the reduction of the £350 overdraft incurred in connection with the erection of a shed. If this debt could be wiped out this year, the raising of £2OOO in three years would bo a record, he thought, for a country association.
